Hi everyone,

I'm Katie Emery and from Tulsa oklahoma.

My heart is full of love for hispanic culture (LOVE speaking spanish) and I feel a strong call to missions.

I'm 18 and senior in high school.

I'm very close with my family.

I have an older brother and sister, that makes me the baby.

I'm very outgoing & loud

I am also super charismatic & love the Holy Spirit

My life is pretty simple

I go to school

I work about 15 hours a week at the Gap, which I love doing but am quitting because I want to be able to spend time with my family and friends before I leave this summer.

I lead a small group of beautiful 7th grade girls on Wednesday nights and also teach their sunday school with my very best friend sally.

I play tennis, mostly just durring the season. I'm not as committed as I should be but I love to play the sport alot.

I also love painting, (but I dont smoke cigarettes, wear a buret or urban outfitters- but that may just be a trendy Tulsa artist thing i dont know) anyway, I just love the way it connects me with other people and cultures and gives me something in common with my maja who is also an artist.

My prayer for this trip is thankful for the invitaiton from God to be a part of what he is doing in Guatemala, and that he would prepare our hearts for it.

I am literally so ready and so pumped, the cry of my heart is just bring it on God, Bring it on.

And as I was reading everyone's blogs I just had such joy to see how God can bring strangers together yet we have a common heart, and a common goal.
