Here it is!
To find your packing list, go onto your profile and click on the tab “My Mobilization Info” and then on “Preparation.” From there, scroll down the page and you will see “Packing Information.” This will give you a general idea of what to pack and here is a few more specifics for your trip:
A Mess Kit
A Sleeping Pad
A Sleeping Bag
A Rain Jacket
A Headlamp or Flashlight
* Skirts and shorts need to be at least knee length.
*Side note From Nick*
Just for your information, we are giving you information as soon as we get it. Sometimes there is a vagueness when the host gives out their list and we then in turn have to interpret it:
-- Mess Kit - This place/bowl and silverware(spork). NOT POTS and PANS.
-- Sleeping bags - The reason we suggest Mummy or cocoons is they can fit nicely in a stuff stack, therefore giving you more packing room. My suggestion is a nylon liner and possibly a fleece liner. This is a very cheap alternative to buying a sleeping bag. I used a combination of both in Kenya, India, and Israel.
-- Packs - You can get one or use a suitcase. Since you are on the field for 7 weeks, they are limiting you to one bag and one carry-on. Packs are great because they are easier to move, though they are expense. Rolly suitcase are not so mobile, but are cheap. THIS IS UP TO YOU TO WHAT YOU CHOOSE.
-- Clothes - When you pack, pack minimal. You will be really surprised at how much you do not need.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I will check them with Katie. Also if she gave you info, please repost it because it helps answers similar questions.
Again, YOU DO NOT NEED POTS AND PANS.
